About us

Open Joint-Stock Company Kurgan Medicines and Products Sintez, established in 1958, is one of Russia’s biggest pharmaceutical undertakings.

Sintez is now an innovative enterprise producing a wide range of high quality pharmaceutical products and operating according to relevant international standards. The company is among the Top Ten Russian pharmaceutical industry leaders in terms of production volumes.

Sintez OJSC is a unique Russian pharmaceutical enterprise manufacturing medicinal products, active pharmaceutical substances, medical devices and veterinary products.

Unlike many Russian companies, Sintez itself produces the substances for its medicine manufacturing. More than 35% of its products are manufactured at full cycle, using its own pharmaceutical substances, including natural and semisynthetic antibiotics.

The product portfolio of Sintez OJSC includes about 300 product names, 84 of them on the Vital and Essential Drugs (VED) list. For many years, the company has been the antibiotic production market leader among domestic manufacturers. Sintez OJSC products are sold on the Russian tender and retail markets, and are exported to 13 countries. The enterprise is actively expanding, bringing new products to the market and investing in production modernisation.

Sintez OJSC is a pharmaceutical complex with seven production plants and more than 30 production lines, store-rooms for raw materials and finished products, raw material and finished product quality control and research laboratories, as well as auxiliary divisions for continuous and full-cycle production.

The Sintez OJSC QC system covers all product manufacturing stages: from pharmaceutical development, incoming raw material control, environmental parameters, staff, and in-process control of intermediate products to quality control of finished products in all respects.

Quality control of raw materials, supplies, semi-finished and finished products is performed by the Quality Control Department (QCD) chemical, pharmacological, and microbiological laboratories of the Sintez plant.

The plant, an employer of about three thousand people and one of Kurgan’s core enterprises, is implementing a number of social programmes for improving the educational level of young people and promoting a healthy lifestyle in the city.

In August 2019, the publicly-traded, diversified holding company Sistema PJSC became a shareholder in Sintez OJSC, the other shareholder being Nacimbio JSC, which is part of Rostec State Corporation.
